Going Bananas

Good Friday evening! I’m so very glad the work week is over. The Duke and I are getting ready to head out to dinner. We’re going to our favorite spot, Bonefish Grill. It’s a chain, but the food is excellent (try the Bang Bang Shrimp and the Saucy Shrimp) and the service is always great!

My Royal Slim-Down is going pretty well. I’ve been on the plan all week and really feel great. I woke up at about 5:45 this morning and ran 3 miles…it felt awesome! After my run I had the last piece of the Low Fat Whole Wheat Coffee Cake.

I topped it with some vanilla Greek yogurt and some sliced bananas. It was perfect after my run.

For lunch I had leftover peppers and onions from last night’s Southwest Philly Cheese Steaks, along with some sliced sqaush, brown rice and a side of avocado smash. Oh, and carrot sticks for dipping.
Lunch

My snack consisted of craisins, mixed nuts and some graham crackers. It was the perfect combo of sweet/salty/crunchy/chewy.

When I got home around 5, I was feeling like I needed a snack, but I really didn’t want to eat anything and ruin my dinner. So………….I reached for one of these.
Diet Coke

I haven’t had one in a week! I’m pretty proud of myself. I know I shouldn’t have even had this one, but at least it won’t spoil my dinner. While I drank the Diet Coke, I baked a batch of Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal muffins. My bananas were about to go bad, so it was the perfect way to use them up.

Instead of the 1/2 cup of peanut butter that it called for, I used 1/4 cup peanut butter and 1/4 cup almond butter…I’ve gotta use up that bland almond butter some how!

And perfect timing on using up the almond butter. After my post about me not liking it, I got an email from Barney Butter suggesting I try their product. Look what came in the mail today:

I had a spoonful of peanut butter while baking, so I’ll try the Barney Butter tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it!

Well, the Duke and I are off for dinner. Have a fabulous Friday night! The Duchess

Independence Day Weekend in Pictures

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend with your loved ones.

The 4th of July is easily one of my favorite holidays of the year. Nothing beats family, friends and food in the summer heat (and here in FL, most of the activities revolved around or in the water). Here’s a [...]

NYC: Day 1

Hey Friends! I can’t believe it’s Tuesday already. I flew back from NYC yesterday, thinking it was Sunday, but was so happy that it was already Monday. This is sure to be a busy, but fast week.
So, if I were a truly awesome blogger, I would have been giving you a minute by [...]

A Year of Wedded Bliss!!

A Year of Wedded Bliss!!

I cannot believe our first year of marriage has come and gone! The Duke and I said our vows on April 4, 2009. I know it sounds cliche, but the day was perfect and I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. It rained (make that POURED) for about 4 days leading up to the wedding, [...]
