Sweet Cyclone

Happy Sunday, folks. I had a rather productive day-church, baking, gym, Wal Mart etc. Sundays are always errand days where I get prepared for the coming week. I still have a few loads of laundry to get through before my to-do list will be complete. Yay for me!

So I have to confess. My sweet tooth has been OUT OF CONTROL lately! It’s messing with my mind, man. Since I revealed the Royal Slim Down plan two weeks ago, I’ve been doing really well. I should say, I’ve been doing really well in most aspects. My diet has been good, I haven’t really been over eating (I get a little full here and there), and my workouts have been amazing! The one thing I can’t shake, though, are the sweets. Since I decided to only have them 2-3 times per week on my new plan, I want sweets more than ever! I know it’s not realistic to cut anything out of your diet entirely, but I thought I could satisfy my sweet tooth with fruit and maybe a handful of chocolate chips here and there. Lately I’ve been having a handful and then some almost every night. This has got to stop!!

Take today for example. I had a very healthy breakfast and lunch, but snacked on a sugar cookie during the day. I felt guilty about that, so I really pushed myself at the gym. My run kicked ass!! I ran 3 miles in 28 minutes, 35 seconds. I was feeling really great about myself. I was craving sweets around dinner time and I new I had to acknowledge the craving. I’d made up my mind that I was having sweets, come hell or high water, so I skipped a true dinner and had a bowl of frozen yogurt instead :)
Sunday Supper

Blue Bell makes a killer low fat strawberry frozen yogurt that has only 90 calories per serving (1/2 cup)! I had about 3/4 cup with some lite cool whip, slivered almonds and a juicy navel orange. This was the perfect dinner! I didn’t feel too full, either. It wasn’t until I started icing my cake balls (we’ll discuss this closer to Valentine’s Day) that things truly went down hill. If you’re not familiar with cake balls, it’s just a mixture of cake crumbs and cream cheese rolled into cute little balls and dipped in chocolate. Well, any ounce of will power that I ever had flew right out the window and I had about 2 and a half balls. :( WHY??? I wasn’t even hungry.

Oh, well. The past is the past. I guess it takes a little binge like this every once in a blue moon to really get my rear in gear. Instead of being upset about it, I’m going to take strength from the whole incident and be really healthy and active this week! I can’t wait to get to the gym and eat right this week. Mind over matter, folks!

Back to the Grammys…did you see Lady GaGa’s performance?? What a freak show! Love her voice, though. The Duchess

Just as a heads up. The reason that you might me craving more sweets is because you are telling yourself that you cant have them!! Whenever I say that I am only going to have one dessert a week, I CRAVE it so much more throughout the week!!

Independence Day Weekend in Pictures

Independence Day Weekend in Pictures

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend with your loved ones.

The 4th of July is easily one of my favorite holidays of the year. Nothing beats family, friends and food in the summer heat (and here in FL, most of the activities revolved around or in the water). Here’s a [...]

Hey Friends! I can’t believe it’s Tuesday already. I flew back from NYC yesterday, thinking it was Sunday, but was so happy that it was already Monday. This is sure to be a busy, but fast week.
So, if I were a truly awesome blogger, I would have been giving you a minute by [...]

A Year of Wedded Bliss!!

A Year of Wedded Bliss!!

I cannot believe our first year of marriage has come and gone! The Duke and I said our vows on April 4, 2009. I know it sounds cliche, but the day was perfect and I wouldn’t have changed a single thing. It rained (make that POURED) for about 4 days leading up to the wedding, [...]
