40 Days

I’m not Catholic, but I’ve decided to participate in Lent this year. For forty days I’ll be giving up sweets. As in chocolate, cookies, brownies, candy, ice cream…the whole nine yards. It will be good for my waistline and my relationship with God. Instead of reaching for a handful of chocolate chips after dinner, I’m going to crack my One Year Bible and read for a bit. I have no doubt I’ll be better for it come Easter Sunday.

In true Duchess fashion, I had to go out with a bang. As such, I savored one of these yesterday.

And that’s what awaits me at the finish line, too. :) So long, chocolate. See you in forty days.

What are you giving up for Lent?

Good luck – you can do it! Of course, you had to post a pic of my fav candy (Reese’s) in my favorite form (egg), so now I want chocolate, and it’s only 6:05 a.m.!

I guess you could say that I’m giving up laziness for Lent, as I am starting an organizational challenge that will take almost the full 40 days of Lent to try to get my house back in order with baby. We’ll see how well that goes … Good luck with the sweets!

3 days so far and I’ve had no sweets. Hopefully we can keep it up the next 37 days!

New follower. It’s sad that even just the picture above makes my mouth water. I’m not sure why but there’s something about the Reese’s eggs and the Reese’s Christmas trees that just taste better than the regular Reeses. :) Good luck with your Lent sacrifice. I’ve said so long to any and all fried foods for the next 40 days.

Welcome! I’m so glad you found me. Isn’t it so weird…the trees and eggs are SO much better than normal Reese’s.

Oh my…I’m trying to CUT BACK on sweets but don’t know if I could commit myself to giving them up for 40 days. Good for you, that will definitely be great for your waistline!

I gave up sweets last year (and I have a very large sweet tooth!!). It’s really hard but I love a challenge! This year, I’m giving up sweets AND red meat. Wishing luck to both of us :)

Oh goodness…not sure I could do both. Honestly, I could give up meat much easier than sweets!

Wow! Good for you! That would probably be the hardest thing you could ask me to give up. I think your right though, I would be better for it as well. I’m rooting for you. I’m a new follower, you have a great Blog.
