BBQ at the Beach

Bar-B-Que is a food that I crave. I don’t crave it often, but when I do, it’s a full-on, gotta-have-it-now, get-outta-my-way-or-I’ll-smack-you-upside-the-head-with-a-rib kind of craving.

The craving usually strikes while I’m watching a Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives marathon, so basically, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5 pm.

I don’t know about you, but I feel totally fine about pigging out on BBQ. You just can’t hold back when it comes to ribs, sauce and allllllll those wonderful Southern sides. Go big or go home, people!

I recently had the opportunity to review our local BBQ joint, Jim ‘N Nicks. I was so excited because I’ve eaten there (pigged out is more like it) many times and have always been satisfied with the food.

Jim ‘N Nick’s is actually a small chain in the Southeast. The Southern flair is definitely apparent in the food.

All of the meats are slow smoked for 14 hours resulting in smokey, juicy perfection.

If traditional BBQ fare isn’t your thing, how about trying a Pig in the Potato Patch (yes, that’s the name on the menu) stuffed with pulled pork, bacon, sour cream AND butter!?!?!

And every good Southern joint has their own variation of deviled eggs. Jim ‘N Nick’s are just heavenly.

Julia and I met Jessica at Jim ‘N Nick’s for lunch last week and we were greeted by a basket of the world famous cheddar biscuits.

And since I’m certainly not one to hold back when it comes to BBQ, I ordered the most gluttonous thing on the menu: Kitchen Sink Pulled Chicken Nachos. BOOM!

Goodness gracious, y’all. These nachos were loaded with smokey chicken, queso, BBQ sauce, pico de gallo, lettuce and fresh jalapenos. I seriously waddled out of Jim ‘N Nick’s!

If you love a good BBQ meal, Jim ‘N Nick’s is not to be missed. It is definitely family friendly and can easily accommodate a large crowd. Do yourself a favor and order the nachos! :)

I received a complimentary meal in exchange for my review. The Duke and I have been to Jim ‘N Nick’s in the past and will definitely go again! All opinions are my own.

We just ate there last night – so good! I’m now regretting my decision not to get pie, but I was just too stuffed. Their chocolate cream pie is out of this world.

Did you go to the one at the Baytowne Wharf? Scott & I drive past the Jim & Nicks in Niceville every time we are on our way to the condo and I always want to try it but Scott doesn’t love BBQ so he’s always “eh” about it. But he does love The Shed in MS so I would imagine he would probably like Jim & Nick’s. We’ll have to try it when we are there in a few weeks!

I’m so excited to head out there. You have no idea! LOL
