The best thing about living in Destin is all the water that surrounds us.
As you can see, we’ve got the breathtaking Gulf of Mexico to the south, the Choctawhatchee Bay to the north, and a pass that connects the two.
Destin is truly a boater’s paradise with water adventures galore. I was lucky enough to spend three days on the water last week. Take a look!
We started out Thursday on my FIL’s boat, the Blue Runner II, for the Blessing of the Fleet.
Grandma Jean and Captain Tommy (aka Grandpa) love snuggling this sweet girl!
It was the perfect weather on Thursday. The harbor was so calm and serene. We’re blessed to live here. No doubt about it!
On Saturday we went out on my in law’s boat in the pass. The water was as teal as it could be. It looked like we were in the Caribbean.
Sunday was my ladies’ fishing trip! We took the Vengeance out and those deck hands didn’t know what to do with us crazy mommas.
I cannot tell you how nice it was to have 8 hours of uninterrupted mommy time. The sun was shining, the fish were biting, and the company was perfect.
We caught a bunch of Trigger fish, Mingo snappers, and even a 6 foot shark! Nicole reeled that bad boy in.
There is nothing more fun than spending time on the water, but it sure is tiring. My hands, arms and back are killing me today after all the fishing.
If you ever visit Destin you should definitely charter a boat. Deep sea fishing is a really good time!
