Cabana Cafe

Julia and I recently had the opportunity to lunch at Cabana Cafe with our friend Jessica. I’d heard of Cabana Cafe, but this was my first experience. I’m so glad I was finally able to give it a try!

Cabana Cafe is right in the heart of Miramar Beach, but is a bit off the beaten path because it’s located inside a condo. It’s still pretty convenient for anyone visiting Destin, but you’d probably need to drive there instead of just walking up from the beach.

We started out with Cabana’s house-made potato chips and cilantro dip.

Y’all. For the love of all things good, you must try these. The chips were crunchy and salty without being greasy. And that dip? Yeah, it basically tasted like the best ranch dressing ever. All of the sauces are made from scratch in house.

Julia spent the majority of lunch bathing in the dip.

We share a bunch of random items for the main event.

My very favorite was the Chicken Florentine Pizza with fresh spinach, mushrooms, grilled chicken and alfredo sauce. Need I say more?

Well, I will say more. The crust was not too thick, not too thin and grilled to perfection. The rich and garlicky sauce was outrageous. I had two slices.

Many items on the menu are customizable, making even the pickiest eater happy. We built our own quesadilla with fresh shaved beef, black olives and spinach. The quesadilla was pretty good, but a little greasy for my taste.

Lastly we shared the Fried Green Tomato BLT. It was just ok in my opinion. I thought the tomatoes needed salt. I was also pretty full by this point!

Overall, we had a great experience at Cabana Cafe. The chips and pizza were to die for, and there are many other menu items I’d love to try next time. I’m thinking the Fish Taco Wrap and Fried Pickles are a must at my next visit. :)

Cabana Cafe is very kid-friendly (Julia loved the bright colors and funky island decor) and has live music most nights of the week! It’s definitely worth trying with the whole family or just for a drink with the adults.
