Julia,
For the first 13 months of your life you have played many roles and been many things. First and foremost, you are our child. You are the one who turned Molly and Jason into Mommy and Daddy.
You are our teacher. Every day you teach us patience, grace, humility, and a how to love deeper than we ever imagined possible.
You are a comedian. We laugh at every little thing you do, from reading books upside down, to riding your rocking horse, to blowing us kisses from across the room. We could eat you with a spoon.
You are an optimist. We love seeing the world through your eyes. You find joy in every little thing and you’re constantly laughing. We should all learn to sit back and enjoy life, just like you.
Out of all the things you’ve been during your sweet little life, you’re about to take on your most exciting role yet.
In late March, you will be a big sister. You will transition from the one and only baby of our family to the oldest one. You will guide, you will mentor, you will love.
Daddy and I are over the moon to watch you grow into your new role. If I had to guess, I’d say you’re pretty excited about it, too.
