Bump Update: 26 Weeks

How far along? 26 weeks

Size of baby: The length of a cucumber and around 2 pounds, according to my doctor

Total weight gain: +17 pounds. I have no clue how this is possible, but I didn’t gain a single pound over the last month. It’s a Christmas Miracle!

Gender: I had an ultrasound this week and was SO TEMPTED to look at the gender. I am having my sweet friend Ashley make some gowns and clothes for the new baby, so I had the doctor look at the gender. He wrote it down and an envelope and handed it to me. I had it in my hot little hands for 30 minutes before handing it back to the nurse so she could call Ashley. Would you believe I didn’t peek at all? I’ve made it this far, why not wait it out? I can’t believe Ashley knows! She promises she won’t tell me.

Movement: Lots of movement, especially at bedtime. I’m hoping this doesn’t mean I have a night owl on my hands.

Sleep: Pretty good lately.

Maternity clothes: Obviously. This belly is no joke.

Symptoms: Same old, same old. Pressure way down low, sciatic issues in my extreme upper leg/lower butt area, feeling large and in charge.

Cravings: Mexican food!

What I miss: Seeing my feet when I look down.

Best moment from the past week: Getting a great report of the baby and seeing him/her during my ultrasound. I could see the heart beating fast and strong and the baby was practicing its breathing. It’s all so amazing!

What I’m looking forward to: Christmas- can you believe it’s a week and a half away? We’ll still be in our current house for Christmas Day, but we’ll spend Christmas Eve at my parents’ house and Christmas Day with the Duke’s parents’ house. The movers are coming on the 27th. I can’t believe it’s all happening so fast!
